What changes on a private tour
On a private walk the guide plans around your party instead of around a group. That means the pace, the stops and the route: shorter stretches for young children, longer time at a hummingbird garden, more photography stops, or a focus on one group of animals you care about.
The reserves, the guides and the scope are the same as on our shared departures — what you are buying is exclusivity and flexibility, not a different forest.
Good reasons to go private
Families with small children, travellers who walk slowly, photographers, honeymooners, and anyone with a specific target species all get more out of a private walk. It also helps if your day is tight: a private tour can be planned around a transfer or another activity rather than a fixed shared departure.

Prices, children and admission
Private pricing is built around the guide, so the per-person price drops as your party grows: the guide fee is shared between the adults in the booking, and children aged 4–10 pay a fixed reduced rate. Children under 4 are free and do not count toward the group.
On both private daytime tours the reserve entrance fee is already in the price and we buy the tickets. Taxes are included in the totals you see, and the estimator on each tour page shows the final per-person price before you send a request.
Private tour questions
- Does a private tour cost more per person?
- Per person it depends on your party size: the guide fee is shared between the adults, so the larger your group, the lower the per-person price. Every tour page shows the final per-person price with taxes included.
- Is the reserve entrance included in the private tours?
- Yes, on both private daytime nature tours. The birding tours are guided service only, and their admission is coordinated separately.
- Can we choose the start time?
- Within the reserve's admission hours, yes. Tell us your preferred time in the request and we will confirm what the reserve allows that day.
- How do children pay?
- Children aged 4–10 pay a fixed reduced rate, children under 4 are free and do not count toward the group, and guests from 11 years pay the adult rate.
